Information Technology is the specialty that combines theoretical and practical aspects related to the use of computers, networks, and software to manage, process, store, and transmit data and information. The aim of this department is to provide technical support and technological solutions to address problems and improve productivity across various business sectors.
It acts as the "Technical Backbone" of the institution, helping to:
* Solve complex problems facing the business.
* Save time and enhance operational efficiency.
* Protect sensitive data and information (Cybersecurity).
* Foster innovation and service development.

🛠️ Essential Tasks of the Information Technology Department


The tasks of the IT department vary depending on the size and nature of the institution, but they are summarized in a set of key functions that ensure the continuity and support of the technical infrastructure:
1. System and Infrastructure Management and Maintenance:
* Installation and configuration of computer hardware, networks, printers, and software.
* Monitoring and maintenance of system and network performance (LAN, WAN, Intranet), troubleshooting any technical issues, and resolving them.
* Developing physical requirements (such as storage space, memory, and network).
* Supervising maintenance work for all electronic devices.
2. Software and Application Development:
* Designing, writing, and testing new programs and applications (whether desktop or mobile apps).
* Developing and updating existing systems and software to meet evolving business needs.
* Integrating user interfaces and designing the user experience (UI/UX).
3. Data Management and Security:
* Installing and maintaining database servers and managing them.
* Securing the database server and all information contained within it (Cybersecurity).
* Creating periodic backups of data in case of any issue.
* Detecting any vulnerabilities in the company's systems and working to fix them and protect the network from hacking attempts.
4. Technical Support and Training:
* Providing necessary technical support to employees and clients to resolve their hardware and software related issues.
* Training employees on the use of new software or functionalities within the systems.
